Alleghany Health is far from your typical health care provider. Based on the size of our town and county one would expect us to be a smaller entity. A rich history of providing excellent care with overwhelming support from the communities we serve makes Alleghany Health a regional leader.

The hospital is a not for profit and was started in 1948 by a group of concerned citizens to establish, build, maintain, manage and operate a hospital for the general welfare of the citizens in our surrounding communities. Alleghany Health provides inpatient and outpatient care and a 24-hour physician staffed emergency room. Our newly expanded and renovated hospital provides some of the finest technology and accommodations in western North Carolina.
