Emergency Department Sitter

Summary

The ER Sitter is responsible for performing general duties related to behavioral health patients arriving to the ED and providing a safe environment with continuous visual monitoring.

Education and Formal Training: High school graduate or equivalent required. Graduate of accredited Certified Nursing Assistant Program with current NC CNA certification, completion of approved basic EMT course with current North Carolina EMT certificate, or law enforcement background. CPR certification within six months of hire date. New employees will be expected to attain current certification as defined by hospital policy.

Work Experience: Prior experience with behavioral health patients preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Some ability to physically, mentally, and emotional perform activities involved in this position. De-escalation training preferred but not required.
